The Best of ‘Burbs 2015 awards were recently released and Middleton pulled its weight as one of the top ‘burbs in the Madison area. From Hubbard Avenue Diner to the Good Neighbor Festival, Middleton has got it going on!
Madison is one of the most bike-friendly states in America so its no surprise that Middleton is home to one of the best bike shops around. Middleton Cycle is your one-stop shop for indoor and outdoor biking quests, and the bike experts will accommodate you no matter your bike level.
Known for their award-winning pies, Hubbard Avenue Diner brings its customers back in time to the class 1950s-style diner. Stop in for breakfast or weekend brunch for a home-style meal and you’ll leave satisfied.
When school is out for the summer, there’s only one place kids want to go in Middleton and that’s the community pool. Walter R. Bauman Aquatic Center has a heated outdoor pool, two water slides, a diving pool and a sandbox play area.
Relax from the hustle and bustle of city life by spending a few serene hours on the Pleasant View Golf Course. This course sits three hundred feet above Lake Mendota giving golfers a breathtaking view of Madison’s isthmus.
If you want to spend a night like the locals you’ll want to head down to the Mid Town Pub on a Friday night for fish fry. The hand-breaded walleye and beer-battered cod is a Middleton staple. The food is mouth-watering and the service is just what you would expect from the good neighbor city.
Nothing screams Madison more than the Willy Street Co-op that began on the East Side and made its way to opening a second store in Middleton. Local, natural and organic food products are what Willy Street Co-op is all about.
Middleton residents know what it means to be a good neighbor and every August they love to celebrate their community at the Good Neighbor Festival. This three-day festival is equipped with all the finest Wisconsin food, music and events.
Lakeview has qualified for the National Parks and Recreation Association Gold Medal Award three times in the category of cities with a population of 30,000 or fewer. Families from as far as Milwaukee visit Madison just to spend the day at Lakeview Park. The park offers hiking trails, fishing piers, a baseball field and playground equipment.
You are not a true Wisconsin resident if you haven’t had a Gritty Burger on your birthday at the Nitty Gritty. While there are two other locations, one downtown Madison and another in Sun Prairie, the Middleton burger joint is a go-to restaurant for local residents.
Sit down in this breathtaking performing arts center and you will no doubt see someone you know up on stage. There’s always something fun happening at the performing arts center that will leave you proud to be from Middleton (or make you wish you lived in Middleton).
