In Madison we love our lakes, we love our walks, and let’s face it, we love our dogs too. Spending time outside, especially in the summer, is a top priority in many of our minds. But wouldn’t it be nice if we could find an extra special spot to bring our four-legged friends along for the adventure? Lucky for you, we have explored a few of the numerous dog parks in Madison so you and your pooch can enjoy a perfect summer day together!
Warner Park | 2930 N Sherman Avenue
Tucked on the east side, this dog park is sure to keep you and your pup busy. A large grassy area in the front of the enclosure allows for dogs to play fetch and socialize together. However, if Fido prefers time on his own there are short trails that wind around the area, letting him stretch his legs. But what truly makes this park doggy heaven is the lake access that lets the pups cool off after their romp. A triple threat, Warner Park is sure to please.
Quann Park | 1802 Quann-Olin Parkway
Next to the Alliant Energy Center, Quann park is a breathtaking sanctuary near downtown. Gravel paths and tall grasses make this park easy for walking and great to tire your pooch out. This park hosts better space for walk than play, but there are areas available for a good dog wrestle. Before heading out to the park check to make sure it hasn’t closed for a special event at the Alliant Energy Center.
Odana School Park | 678 Segoe Road
For those of you on the west side this is the perfect place for your pup to play. While there aren’t walking trails available, this space provides the perfect off leash area for your dog to get some serious play time in. With lots of dogs around and water jugs available, this is a great stop on a nice summer night after work. We promise, your pooch will thank you later.
