Focus on Fall

October 4th, 2016

September move over, here comes October! Mark your calendars for transition because among the things October brings, change is definitely on the list.

With changes on the mind, your front door is definitely on ours. When was the last time you spruced it up; added a paint job or a decorative wreath? With the colorful leaves and transitional gardens, October is a great month to explore these ideas! If you’re non-committal on color, consider hanging a fall wreath! Throw your own wreath making party with inspirations from this, Design Love Fest blog article; great for those who love a good do-it-yourself-er. Buying a wreath is a great option too, with stores like The Home-Depot stocking up you’ll be all set. However, if you could stand a color change we say do it! Front doors are the gateway to your home; the perfect time to make a statement about you! A red door blends well on any home, especially with cool colors. A green front door displays great with neutral tones, while yellow can make a blue really pop. Since winter is around the corner a new hue can really offset the white.

The changes you’re making to your door can also be enhanced with some great fall yard décor. Leave the faux cobwebs in storage and consider taking a trip to the pumpkin patch. Squashes and gourds make beautiful natural arrangements to set on your porch or cluster around the mailbox. Corn stalks are a classic tradition that add height to your yard when most of your flowers have gone flat.

Greet October with a fresh coat of paint and some new decorations! With our tips, everyone will be fall(ing) in love with your home.
