Why We Love Food Carts

August 2nd, 2011

If there is one thing Madison is not short on, it's good restaurants. Agreeing where to go can be a challenge at times because the options are seemingly endless. And affordable. And good! And if your starting point is downtown you can have any ethnicity or price point, and all within walking distance, too.

Sometimes, though, you don't want to have a sit down meal. Either you need something quick so you can head back to the office, or you want to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. That's where food carts come in. And Madison is graced with so many good options. Whether you're on the Capitol Square or closer to Library Mall, you have your pick of Mediterranean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, African, Mexican, Indian, BBQ, sandwiches, salads, and on and on.

Our latest favorite is the Good Food cart. It's on the Capitol Square outside of Walgreens. Everything on the menu is available as a salad or a wrap, with add-ins like chicken, tofu or hummus. Our favorite is the Spicy Thai with either tofu or chicken depending on our mood. It's a great way to get your greens and the name doesn't lie – it definitely is Good Food!
