Local Holiday Shopping in Madison, WI

December 1st, 2014

There is no getting around it – the holidays are here again. And with them comes decorating our homes, celebrations with friends and family, and shopping. Lots and lots of shopping. Whether you like it or not gift giving often takes center stage this time of year and most of us have at least a few presents to make or purchase (many of us have way, way more than a few.)

While it's easy to sit in your favorite chair with your iPad in hand clicking away on Amazon (The prices! The 2-day shipping!), you know deep down that supporting local shops not only supports our local economy, but it also makes our community a more vibrant place to live. Why not purchase at least a few things locally this year? This infographic created by CustomMade gives some compelling reasons to do just that. And we've even made it easy on you by listing a few ideas on where to shop (and when) in Madison (here's another infographic if you're still not convinced.)

To paraphrase Mother Teresa, “It's not how much we give, but where we shop.” (Or something like that, anyway.)
